Prevention

Our goal to eliminate lice can only be accomplished with the help of the family. We will teach you the techniques and give you the information needed to eliminate these pesky rascals from your home. Ask us a question, we will be happy to answer-that is why we are here.

These are things that will help prevent your family from sharing or spreading lice:

• Head checks for all family members. Lice like to migrate to those closest to us.
• Wash all combs and brushes in hot soapy water for 20 minutes.
• Wash all clothing and bedding that has been worn or used recently, within the last 48 hours, in hot water and heat dry for atleast 25 minutes. I know it is tempting but you do not need to wash everything in the house, only wash the most recently used items. Lice will only survive 24-48 hours without a live host.
• Vacuum thoroughly floors, carpeting, furniture, mattresses and car seats.
• Do not share hair care items, towels, bedding, clothing, hats or helmets for sports. One helpful tip is to mark each brush with a person’s name. That will be their special brush.
